Boss list in progression order
Names and regions are the wording of the Steam achievements. The order follows the unlock rates, which fall with every region, so it matches the order players are clearing them in. Rates were read on 2026-09-29.

Where players stop
The drop between regions shows where the game gets hard. Almost everyone beats Kings Woods. About a third finish Northhill Crypt. Then the numbers fall off a cliff:
- Ogre to Venom Queen: 32.3% to 11.6%. Two thirds of the players who cleared the crypt had not yet beaten the next mini-boss.
- Venom Queen to Ancient Oak Treant: 11.6% to 4.4%. The Treant was the wall in the demo too, and the developers nerfed its health and healing by 10% in patch 0.1.12.
- Tazan Wastes and beyond: under 2%. Everything from the Tazan Isles onward is below 1%.

Cities
Two achievements are for reaching a city rather than killing something. They mark the two later hubs of the map.

The starting town was called Aldenreach in the June patch notes, which placed the corrupted forest (Kings Woods South) to the south of it.
Boss keys and Demon Skulls
Boss nodes have an entry cost. In the demo it was Demon Skulls, and since patch 0.1.12a the skulls are only deducted after you win; entering only checks your balance. Launch players on the forum talk about farming the first boss for "boss keys" before moving on. We have not seen an official note on what changed between the two, so treat them as the same idea: farm normal nodes, then spend on bosses.

How many bosses are in Deskrawl?
20 have a Steam achievement: a mini-boss and a boss in each of 10 regions, from Kings Woods to The Cinder Crown.
Who is the first boss?
The Raptor in Kings Woods. Players on the Steam forum describe it as a level 7 fight, and 94.5% of owners had beaten it a day after launch.
Who is the final boss?
The last region in the achievement list is The Cinder Crown, with Emberfang as its mini-boss and the Lord of the Cinder as its boss. Both sat at 0.1% a day after launch.
Which boss is the level 25 boss?
The Ancient Oak Treant in Kings Woods South. It was the final boss of the demo after the level cap went to 25, and it has its own page on this site.
Can bosses be captured?
Yes. The store page says bosses can be captured as minions, and legendary reins for seven of them were already listed on the Steam Market on September 29.
