Deskrawl Ancient Oak Treant: How to Beat the Level 25 Boss
Where it is
The Ancient Oak Treant is the boss of Kings Woods South, the corrupted forest south of the starting town. The region’s mini-boss is the Venom Queen. The area was added to the demo in patch 0.1.11 on June 19, 2026, together with the level cap of 25, which is why players call the Treant the “level 25 boss” or “25 boss”.

Why it stops people
The Treant heals. Patch 0.1.12 lists three changes to it: max HP down 10%, heal amount down 10%, and a longer heal cooldown. If your damage is too low, the heal undoes your progress and the fight never ends. That is also why the unlock rate falls from 11.6% at the Venom Queen to 4.4% here.
What has worked
Thorns Warrior. A demo-era video guide for this fight uses a thorns build. Since patch 0.1.12 thorns damage gets your physical damage bonus and conditional bonuses such as damage against elites or vulnerable targets, and the Vicious Thorns talent from patch 0.1.13 lets thorns land critical hits. A launch player also found thorns strong for the first 15 levels.
Burst through the heal. Whatever the class, stack damage for the window between heals:
- Use a combat potion. The Battle Draught Belt adds +35% damage for 6 seconds after drinking one.
- Apply Vulnerable before your big hit if your class can.
- Bring a minion with an attack speed or damage ability rather than a hauler.
Out-level it. The demo capped at 25. The full game does not, so you can return a few levels later with upgraded gear. Upgrade your weapon at the blacksmith first; an official screenshot shows a +4 to +5 step adding 31.5 weapon damage.
The leaderboard
The first leaderboard, added in patch 0.1.13, ranked the fastest Treant boss clear. The developers published the top 100 on July 22 and promised reward minions for the challenge. Players noted a suspicious first place: a clear under 3 seconds when second place took 27.
After the Treant
The next region in the achievement order is the Tazan Wastes, followed by the City of Tazan. Under 2% of players had beaten the next mini-boss, the Sandstorm Harpy Queen, a day after launch. The full order is on the boss list.
