Deskrawl Life Skills, Carriage Filter and Auto-Sell
Life Skill nodes players talk about
The developers have not published the tree, and nodes stay hidden until you reach them. This table collects the nodes confirmed by patch notes or reported by launch players.
| Node | What it does | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Gold find (first +10% node) | More gold; players report it also unlocks the auto-sell option in the carriage settings | Forum |
| Auto-sell | The carriage sells chosen rarities when it drops loot off instead of storing them | Patch 0.1.10, forum |
| Loot filter | Choose which rarities the carriage picks up | Patch 0.1.10 |
| Rein filter | Skip reins for minions you already own | Patch 0.1.13b and 0.1.13c |
| Auto Fill Inventory | When the carriage is full, new loot goes to your inventory | Forum |
| Carriage capacity | More loot per trip | Community guide |
| Item find | Better drop quality | Community guide, launch stream |
| XP gain | Faster levels | Community guide, launch stream |
| Decrease Auto Revive Cooldown I and II | Less downtime after a death | Community guide, launch stream |
| Combat potion slot | Unlocks a slot for a battle potion, set in Combat Settings (C) | Forum, launch stream |
| Auto refill potions | Potion charges refill when you return to town | Launch stream |
| Offline hunting | The character keeps earning while you are away | Launch stream, forum |
| More storage pages | Extra stash pages | Patch 0.1.12 |
Setting up the carriage
- Click the carriage (the cart your minion pulls) to open its settings. The panel can be dragged.
- For each rarity choose what happens: pick up, or sell once auto-sell is unlocked.
- Set the rein filter. Leave it off if you want every rein, including duplicates to sell.
- If you bought Auto Fill Inventory, overflow goes to your bags when the carriage is full.
Players advise selling commons rather than ignoring them: auto-sell turns them into gold immediately, and gold is what Life Skills cost. Treasure chests can only be opened in town since patch 0.1.13b.
What to buy first
A reasonable order based on what launch players report buying:
- First gold find node, then auto-sell for common and uncommon gear.
- Carriage capacity, so long runs do not stall.
- Combat potion slot and auto refill, so automated boss loops keep working.
- Auto revive cooldown, then item find and XP gain.
One launch player noted that gold find nodes are scattered around the tree and hidden, which makes planning awkward. Resetting Life Skills costs gold, so avoid buying nodes you do not need on the way.
Potions
- Potions stack to 10 since patch 0.1.12.
- HP potions and Town Scrolls can be clicked to use.
- The Merchant sells a movement speed potion; one player puts the 15% version at 3,000 gold.
- Shift + right click buys 10 at once.
Life Skill questions
How do I stop picking up common items?
At first the carriage dropdown only offers Pick Up. Buy the first gold find node in Life Skills to unlock auto-sell, then change the setting per rarity in the carriage settings.
Where is the battle potion slot?
After unlocking the combat potion slot in Life Skills, open Combat Settings with C and equip a combat potion bought from the Alchemist.
Why is my Life Skills tree so small?
Nodes and connectors are hidden until you unlock the ones next to them. The tree grows as you buy nodes.
How many Life Skill nodes are there?
A community guide counts 85. The Jack of All Trades achievement is for unlocking every node; 0.3% of Steam players had it a day after launch.
Do XP potions last an hour?
Players report the buff ends when you return to town or die, so drink it right before a long automated loop on your highest farmable node.
